DEVICE FOR TRANSMITTING AND RECEIVING ROTATING LIGHT SIGNALS

A device is mounted in a medical examination apparatus (1) for transmitting measurement-related information signals (7). The device has a rotating sender carrier (2) that carries a fixed light signal emitting device and a stationary detector-receiver arranged on a circle parallel to the orbit followed by the emitting device. The sender (5) of the emitting device is spaced apart from the receiver. It would be desirable to improve the operation of the device, making it less failure-prone and at the same time less complex. For that purpose, the emitting device has only one information signal sender (5), the receiver consists of a circular fluorescent optic fibre (10) with an information signal detector (11) arranged at least at one of its ends, and the sender (5) irradiates the information signals to the fluorescent optic fibre (10) in a direction approximately perpendicular thereto (7). Freedom from failure is considerably improved in that the sender can be arranged extremely near to the receiver, i.e. optic fibre, and in that the distance between sender and optic fibre is constant.
