The invention relates to a ball joint consisting of a ball (2) on a pin (1) and a housing (3) in which the ball (2) is fitted directly so as to rotate and pivot. Radial slots (3a) running axially from the aperture in the housing (3) at least to the equator (3c) of the spherical bearing surface give rise to a plurality of spherical section-shaped bearing surfaces (3b) in the housing (3) which are elastically deformable through an annular groove (3f) running around them radially in the section receiving the ball (2) extending from the housing aperture to the equator (3c), and can be secured by a securing ring (4) insertable into the annular groove (3f) in their position holding the ball (2) in the housing (3) so that the ball (2) is held in position.
