An improved system for using magnetic reso- nance techniques to obtain information relating to ge- ologic structures is disclosed. The system (30 and 32) of the present invention uses values of the total poros- ity of a formation and the porosity obtained via NMR pulse echo techniques, to derive additional information relating to the underlying geologic structures, includ- ing resistivity and water saturation.
