A belt retractor drive is designed as a rotating piston air engine with a rotor (16) that may be directly joined to the belt-winding coil of a belt roller. When the drive is not in operation, the blades (20) are withdrawn into radial slits (18) of the rotor (16), so that they do not contact the wall of the housing. The blades have at their radially inner end a larger pressure-application surface than at their outer end. When the gas generator is actuated, the blades are pushed outwards in the radial direction by the pressure accumulated at the outlet (30) by means of a bursting plate (54) and sealingly engage the wall of the housing (12). |
