A glucan elicitor receptor having substantially the amino acid sequence represented by SEQ ID NO: 1 in the Sequence Listing; a DNA or a fragment thereof containing a base sequence coding for the glucan elicitor receptor having substantially the amino acid sequence represented by SEQ ID NO: 1 in the Sequence Listing; a DNA or a fragment thereof integrated into plasmid pER 23-1 and containing a base sequence coding for the glucan elicitor receptor; a vector containing the DNA or the fragment thereof; and a plant cell containing the DNA or the fragment thereof incorporated thereinto.
