<p>A fluorinated aromatic compound represented by formula (I), utilizable for preparing a magnetic fluid having a wide heat-resistant temperature range and a high water resistance. In said formula, X represents H, F, Cl, C1-C20 alkyl or C1-C20 alkoxy; p represents an integer of 1 to 4; y represents -COCH3, -COOC2H5, -CH(OH)CH3, -C(CH3)2OH, -CH=CH2, -C(CH3)=CH2 or -CAB(CH2)mSI(CH3)nZ3-n (wherein A and B represent each H or CH3; Z represents Cl, OCH3 or OC2H5; m and n represent each 0 or 1); and Rf represents C1-C20 fluoroalkyl or C1-C100 fluoropolyether group. <CHEM></p> |
