Hairspray compositions

An aq. hairspray comprises (A) a nonionic, anionic, cationic or amphoteric water-soluble polymer hair fixative (I) of soln. viscosity at 10% in water of below 20,000 (pref. below 15,000) cps at 25 [deg]C; and (B) an aq. latex of water-insol. polymeric particles at (I):particles wt. ratio 10:1-1:10 (pref) 2:1-1:2, the particles having ave. particle size up to 3 (pref. up to 1) micron and Tg 250-300 [deg]C and being prepd. (pref. by emulsion polymerisation) from styrene, alpha-Me styrene, divinylbenzene, 1-20C alkyl acrylate ester, (meth)acrylic acid, Me methacrylate, (meth)acrylamide, crotonic or maleic acid, vinyl acetate and/or vinyl neodecanoate.
