摘要 PURPOSE:To improve a recording sensitivity without the occurrence of scumming and to cope with a very high speed machine by using base paper containing a specific amount or more of a specific chemical pulp in the whole pulp composition and having a specific value or more surface smoothness measured by regular reflection-type smoothness gauge. CONSTITUTION:As base paper in thermal recording paper, base paper containing 10wt.% or more or preferably 20wt.% or more chemical pulp made of kenaf legions part in a whole pulp composition is used. Furthermore, the surface of the base paper is treated so as to have a 8% or more, or preferably 14% or more, smoothness measured by a regular reflection-type smoothness (measurement pressure; 20kg/cm<2>). If the measured value by the regular reflection-type smoothness gauge (measurement pressure; 20kg/cm<2>) is less than 8%, the contact of the recording paper with a recording head becomes ununiform even if the kenaf ligneous part chemical pulp is incorporated by the amount of 10wt.% or more, and a density of a recording image also deteriorates. Any of the obtained thermal recording paper has no possibility of scumming and realizes a sharp recorded image having a superior image density.
