PURPOSE:To obtain an optical compensating sheet capable of compensating the contrast dependency of a TN type liquid crystal display device due to the angle of the field of view at a low cost. CONSTITUTION:When an oriented film is formed on a transparent film and a layer of a low molecular discotic liquid crystal is formed on the oriented film to obtain an optical compensating sheet, the oriented film is made of an org. oriented film whose I/O value is 0.5 to <2.5 or an inorg. diagonally vapor- deposited film having >=200Angstrom thickness. |
