PURPOSE:To make it possible to decrease reflected light from a protective plate, etc., and to permit easy recognition of the display contents of a liquid crystal panel. CONSTITUTION:Information is displayed on the liquid crystal panel 2 and a back light device 5 irradiates the liquid crystal panel 2 with light when the device is driven. The information displayed by the liquid crystal panel 2 is recognized when the panel 2 is viewed via a protective plate 27 in this state. On the other hand, even if the protective plate 27 or polarizing plate 23 is irradiated with the light from a light source existing outside the liquid crystal display device 20, the surfaces thereof are subjected to a diffusion treatment and therefore, the light cast thereto is not reflected. Then, only the light of the back light device 5 transmitted through the liquid crystal panel 2 is recognized and the recognition of the information is facilitated. |
