<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a radar employing a spread spectrum searching system in which the number of demodulators can be decreased without sacrifice of the distance resolution. CONSTITUTION:A demodulation code switch 10 switches the demodulation signals outputted from a plurality of demodulation code generators 9 depending on the target detecting condition of a searching signal processor 12. A demodulation signal having low cross correlation with the modulation code is selected immediately after start of searching and a signal, which can be demodulated even if the desired delay amount is shifted a little, is outputted thus saving the number of demodulators 11. When the presence of a target is ascertained by some degree, a demodulation signal having high cross correlation is selected to ensure a distance resolution equivalent to that of a conventional radar. This constitution can decrease the number of demodulators while sustaining the distance resolution equivalent to that of a conventional radar.</p> |
