<p>PURPOSE:To perform the changeover control of an ATM communication route made redundant through an ATM repeating exchange by a simple method in an ATM layer. CONSTITUTION:In this system for which the repeating exchanges 2a and 2b provided with redundant channels 5b to 5e are provided between ATM exchanges 3a and 3b for performing the changeover control of the redundant channels, a routing table is provided inside the respective exchanges 3a, 3b, 2a and 2b and validity information for indicating the validity and invalidity of ATM cells is set and managed corresponding to the fault detection of a supervisory and controlling device 1. The respective exchanges 3a, 3b, 2a and 2b extract and transmit only the cells of validity display.</p> |
