PURPOSE:To provide a conductive paste for the external electrodes of an electronic component, of which the external electrodes can be formed without making the paste calcine, and a method of forming the external electrodes using this conductive paste. CONSTITUTION:Conductive powder and a metallic alkoxide are made to disperse in an organic vehicle to manufacture a conductive paste and this conductive paste is applied on the end surfaces of a ceramic element 3 and is made to hydrolyze to form external electrodes 4a and 4b.
