PURPOSE:To effectively quantize a higher harmonic amplitude value by using correlation between frames in a device for quantizing the higher harmonic amplitude value for a device for coding/decoding harmonic sound. CONSTITUTION:When the higher harmonic amplitude value is quantized, a power spectrum of an input sound calculated by a power spectrum calculator 1 and a difference spectrum of a spectrum envelope of a former frame decoded by a spectrum envelope decoder 6 are calculated by a difference spectrum calculator 2. A parameter imparting a difference spectrum envelope is obtained by a spectrum envelope calculator 3, and is quantized by a parameter quantizer 4, and the difference spectrum envelope is obtained by a quantization difference spectrum envelope calculator 5, and is added to the spectrum envelope of the former frame by a spectrum envelope decoder 6, and the spectrum envelope of a present frame is decoded. |
