A hand grenade has a main charge (not shown) with an axial channel into which extends a multi-stage detonation train comprising a primary charge (3a-5a) which ignites to force a firing pin in the form of a cylinder (7) part axially and part rotatably towards a secondary charge (4a-4d) which then fires the main charge. An end cap (23) is rotatable to set the grenade selectively from a safety setting to a time fuse setting, an impact setting or several impact-fuse settings wherein the grenade explodes a set time after impact.
