PURPOSE:To provide a font file editing device capable of displaying a character line at high speed when a position where the character line is displayed is found beforehand. CONSTITUTION:A coordinate calculation means 3 obtains a coordinate displaying the character line stored in a character line storage means 1 based on information from a format storage means 2 and a font storage means 4. A character code coordinate line forming means 5 forms a coordinate line at every code from the coordinate obtained by the coordiate calculation means 3. A character code coordinate line storage means 6 stores the coordinate line formed by the character code coordi-nate line forming means 5 together with the character code. A coordi-nate line degeneracy font forming means 7 extracts the font data corresponding to the character code stored in the character code coordinate line storage means 6 from the font storage means 4 and forms a coordi-nate line degeneracy font from the font data and the coordinate line.
