PURPOSE:To prevent the forgery of a copy prohibit matter such as a bank note even when the image reader is connected to a work station or the like via an interface and an image is outputted from other output device in addition to the case that the image reader is used for a stand alone copying machine and also used separately as a scanner single body. CONSTITUTION:A recognition processing section 34 compares and collates an original image with a specific original such as a bank note and when it is discriminated that the original image is identical to the specific image, a CPU 31 controls the scanner lamp 27 of a scanning optical system and a drive motor 30. Or a shading correction circuit is used to revise correction data to inhibit transmission of image data to the printer section of a copying machine or an external output device or to send inadequate image data thereto. |
