PURPOSE:To provide a suction device for engine equipped with mechanical type supercharger, with which it is possible to prevent carbon particles included in the suction gas because of the EGR from bringing about failed operation of a bypass valve furnished in the supercharger bypass passage. CONSTITUTION:A suction device for an engine equipped with a mechanical type supercharger 7 is furnished with a supercharge bypass pipe for suction passage 2 for bypassing the supercharger 7. The outlet end of the upstream EGR passage 21 is located upstream of the supercharger 7, and a filter 27 for capturing carbon particles is installed at the bypass pipe 11 in its position downstream of a bypass valve 12. An ECU 40 stops the supercharger 7 in the low load range, actuates it in association with a rise of the load, and squeezes the opening of the bypass valve 12. When the supercharger 7 stops, the EGR valve 23 in the upstream EGR passage 21 is closed, and the EGR valve 23 is opened only when the supercharger 7 is in operation. |
