ENCODING DEVICE FOR COMPRESSED SIGNAL

PURPOSE:To improve reliability of data at the time of encoding compressed signal to the CD-ROM format. CONSTITUTION:Signals compressed by a compression encoder 1 are stored once in memory 2 and the fields 11-14 of the stored signals are each detected by an address counter/decoder 3. The address counter/decoder 3 outputs select signals of mode 2 and form 1 in the CD-ROM format in the fields of sync information 11, data distribution information 12 and scale factor 13, and outputs select signals of mode 2 and form 2 in the CD-ROM format in the field 14 of audio data. The CD-ROM encoder 4 packs the compressed signals using the sector format based on the select signals to output them as CD-ROM writing signals.
