PURPOSE:To reduce the power consumption of a built-in power supply for a portable radio communication equipment by setting its display part in a display or non-display state corresponding to the requests of an operator and to the state of the communication equipment. CONSTITUTION:A display control circuit 30 sets a display part 20 in a display or non-display state, and an operator sets a continuous or intermittent display state by a continuous/intermittent display changeover switch 80. This display switching information is given to the circuit 30. In a continuous display mode, the circuit 30 outputs a display request signal to the part 20. In an intermittent display mode, the circuit 30 decides that the operator is looking at the part 20 according to the state of a portable radio communication equipment and when the sound level of a microphone circuit 50 detected by a sound level detecting circuit 60 is lower than a prescribed level. Thus a display request signal is inputted to the part 20 from the circuit 30b and displayed there based on the call information. |
