PURPOSE:To provide a map display device in which a user grasps an approximate scale value and the safety during a driving is considerably improved. CONSTITUTION:A map display device 10 has a CD-ROM which stores the map data corresponding to plural scale data, an operating section 16 which inputs scale switching instructions to switch and select scale data, a CD-ROM reading device 11 which display outputs the map data corresponding to the scale data that are switched and selected in accordance with the scale switching instructions, a display control section 13 and a control section 18A. The section 18A stores acoustic data corresponding to the scale data. A variable frequency signal generating section 14A generates acoustic signals based on the acoustic data corresponding to the switched and selected scale data in accordance with the scale switching instructions. The acoustic signals are outputted from a speaker 15. |
