PURPOSE:To get a high-capacity and inexpensive negative electrode for an alkaline battery by covering the framework of a porous resin core with paste having iron powder and a binder for its main ingredients, and heating it to make a sintered substance in the shape of three-dimensional sponge, and then, charging negative electrode active substance. CONSTITUTION:Carboxymethyl cellulose 3% aqueous solution is added to reduced iron powder 1-3mum in average diameter, and it is impregnated with polyurethane foaming substance 1.5mm in thickness, 0.3mm in average hole diameter, and 97% in porous degree as a supporter. It is dried at 90 deg.C excluding surplus paste, and then it is sintered in hydrogen for at 1150 deg.C for 30min. MnNi3.7Mn0.4 Al0.3Co0.6 is smashed and it passes through a 300 mesh, and carboxymethyl cellulose two wt.% aqueous solution is added to make paste. This is charged in the said sintered substance, and is dried for one hour at 120 deg.C, and then it passes through a roller press where emboss processing is alloy electrode for the negative electrode of alkaline battery can be obtained. |
