PURPOSE: To improve frictionolical and dynamical properties by specifying weight and a diameter of a pore system on a bearing material of porous SiC having trimodal pore composition. CONSTITUTION: A porous bearing material of non-pressure sintered SiC having an independent pore of 3-10 volume % is formed so as to have trimodal pore composition to be constituted of a micro pore M, a fibriform macro pore F and a spherical macro pore S. At this time, quantity of a porous system F-M-S is specified in accordance with a trapezoidal region having corner points (a)10%M-80%F-10%S, (b)=10%M-10%F-80%S, (c)=40%M-10%F-50%S, (d)=40%M-50%F-10%S. Additionally, the micro pore M has a diameter of less than 5μm, the fibriform macro pore F has a diameter of less than 30μm and length of less than 80μm, the spherical macro pore has a diameter of less than 70μm, and bending strength is formed to show at least 250 MN/m<2> .
