The process is for controlling the recuperative braking of an electric road vehicle which has a motor-generator (6) which uses the electrical energy from on-board batteries (7) to drive at least two wheels (1,2). The motor-generator (6) functions as a generator during deceleration phases of the vehicle and supplies the batteries (7) with charging current resulting from the dissipation of energy during braking. The current flow is controlled by a central control unit (11) which detects the adherence limit of the vehicle from data transmitted from an on-board speed detector (8,9,12). The current is suppressed if the variation in speed dv/dt is less than a first step level S1. The current is progressively re-established to its normal value, when the speed variation dv/dt is greater than a second step value S2 or is greater than a first step S1, during a set time interval Dt or when the end of the braking sequence is detected. |
