PURPOSE: To appropriately process character number data and the upper part of a picture. CONSTITUTION: Character number data is stored in a first memory by the system of the electronic memory chip of a data carrier card in a shorter cycle period by a character number write device. Picture information is stored in a second memory in the system of the optical memory area of the same data carrier card by using an optical reader/writer. Picture information is stored at related time in respective cases by a chip which is read, and read data is transferred to an optical memory area after a processing if need.
