PURPOSE: To make the outline font of a character composed of linear segments suitable for rastering and to change the thickness of the character corresponding to expansion. CONSTITUTION: An outline 48, for which font data determining the form of each character as an outline 10 composed of straight line and curved line segments are revised so that the thickness of characters in a bit map is made different from the thickness of original font characters just for a prescribed expanding distance (f), is calculated based on the font data and the expanding distance (f) and afterwards, a bit map expression is filled with revised outline discrete pixels 12 so as to be converted into the bit map expression of respective characters. |
