PURPOSE:To prevent the deterioration with time of a developing sleeve and the lowering of developing property from occurring and to maintain the carrying property of developer by providing the surface of the developing sleeve with plural radially retractable blade-like members. CONSTITUTION:The surface of the developing sleeve 25 is provided with plural radially retractable blade-like members 26. Besides, the plural blade-like members 26 are constituted so that they can project from the surface of the sleeve 25 at a developer carrying position and they can be retracted to the inside at a developing part. By making the plural blade-like members 26 project from the surface of the sleeve 25, the developer 22 is carried at recessed parts formed between the plural blade-like members. The developer 22 carried on the surface is carried to the developing part in accordance with the rotating action of the sleeve 25 and the plural blade-like members are retracted to the inside of the sleeve 25 at the developing part. Therefore, all the developer 22 carried on the surface of the sleeve 25 is used for a developing action. |
