PURPOSE:To provide an apparatus for producing a double refractive film capable of greatly improving the coloration and visual angle characteristic of an STN- LCD at a low cost and with high productivity by simple stages. CONSTITUTION:This apparatus has a vessel 1 which is internally composed of a thermally conductive material, slit routes 5 having bent parts 101, 102... where a thermoplastic film sheet is lubricated and transported in this vessel 1, heating means 201, 202... which are arranged in proximity to the inner side of these bent parts and heat the inner side of the bent parts and cooling means 13 which face these heating means 201, 202 and cool the outer side of the bent parts and the entire part of the slit routes. |
