There is described an embodiment of a padded fitting part, especially a padded interior fitting part for motor vehicles, which is composed of an essentially plate-like rigid supporting or base part, a cover and a padded insert which is a foamed plastic material, the cover engaging round the circumferential edges of the supporting or base part by means of turned-down edges and the turned-down edges being fastened to the rear of the said base part by means of bonding with extensions, which penetrate apertures in the supporting or base part, of the padded insert. An especially simple procedure for producing an interior padded fitting part which is equipped in this manner is also proposed.
