Ink compsn. comprises a vehicle (I) and charged particles (II) contg. a colourant, such that (a) the specific amt. of charge of (II) is 10-1000 microC/g with positive or negative polarity and/or (b) the specific resistance of the ink compsn. is 10<10> ohm.cm or more. Also claimed are methods for recording with the ink.
