Arrangement for continuous removal of esp. non=metallic straps from cartons

Cartons (1) are fed in and positioned by a sensor signal which initiates the lowering of a plate (2.1) with cutter blade which is slid under the strap. A sensor is also used to determine if the strap incorporates a steel connector and initiates sideways movement of the cutter to avoid the connector. A swinging arm (4) with a clamp (13), which grips the strap (1.1) and an upper cutter blade is lowered into a position (pn.1) in which it grips and cuts the strap. The pivot unit (6) swings the clamp over 180 deg. An actuator (7) is used to push the strap into the shredder (12). A sensor determines if the strap has been removed and initiates the lifting of the upper part of the cutting arrangement from the carton.
