<p>PURPOSE:To suppress increase in circuit scale and to prevent a hierarchical characteristic from being degraded by performing a transmission inverse gamma correction and a display gamma correction for a luminance signal and a color difference signal. CONSTITUTION:A non-linear processing is performed for a luminance signal by a luminance transmission inverse gamma correction circuit 7. The luminance signal in which a transmission inverse gamma correction is performed and a hierarchical characteristic is made linear is limited to the same band as a color difference signal by low-pass filter 21 after a black level is adjusted by a subtracter 15. A luminance signal Y' subjected to a band limit to this low-pass and the color difference signal subjected to the transmission inverse gamma correction by a color difference transmission inverse gamma correction circuit 9 are converted into R, G and B signals in a MUSE dematrix circuit 11. The R, G and B signals multiplexed by a multiplex circuit 22 and subjected to a non-linear processings in a display gamma correction circuit 12 are separated into three signals again in a demultiplex circuit 23, a low-pass luminance signal Y is preapred in an NTSC matrix circuit 13, and the signal Y is subtracted from the R and B signals.</p> |
