A modular cupboard system, esp. for kitchens in catering establishments, has locking inserts (5) for the walls (1, 2) which are built into the walls (1, 2) so that the openings for the locking screws (11) emerge only from an end of the wall (1, 2). Each wall (1) is formed by two spaced half-shells (8) with the space filled with a thermal or acoustic insulation or polyurethane foam (10).
