Methods for the solvent extraction of organic analytes from a sample in an extraction cell (25) are provided. An organic solvent from a reservoir (17) is used to extract analytes under elevated temperatures and pressures below supercritical conditions in short times and with low amounts of solvent. The extraction cell (25) is mounted between a pump (14) and a sample collection vial (35).
