A bow saw with a handle at the rear end of the saw bow may be coupled by a stick fastening coupling to a stick (32), for example a telescopic stick. For that purpose, the rear section of the saw bow (10) has a welded ratchet element (34) surrounded by the shell (30) of the handle and an apparatus plugging pin (36) swivellingly secured to the saw bow (10) by fork arms (38) in the area of the ratchet element (34). The apparatus plugging pin (36) may be form-fittingly locked with the ratchet element (34) in the deployed position of the handle, so that the plugging pin (36) projects backwards and a stick (32) provided with a corresponding insertion hole and coupling may be plugged on the pin. The apparatus plugging pin (36) is moved into the coupling position when the handle shell (30) is swivelled. When the stick is linked to the bow saw by the stick fastening coupling, even distant branches or the like may be cut. When the coping saw is uncoupled from the stick, however, the handle shell is folded and the coupling device does not hamper the operation of the saw.
