A multi-wavelength excimer radiation source (1) having a plurality of flat cylindrical excimer lamps (L11 - L44), arranged in the manner of a matrix in one plane, is provided between a mirror electrode (14) and an at least partially transparent mesh electrode (15), wherein the excimer lamps (L11 - Lnm) contain different gas fillings according to the desired wavelength range. Instead of one mirror electrode (14), mutually electrically insulated and separately activatable mirror electrodes can be provided which are arranged behind the excimer lamps (L11 - L44) in such a manner that each mirror electrode is arranged in series with a excimer lamp (L11 - L44). Consequently, this multi-wavelength excimer radiation source (1) can be used as a monochromatic radiation source in a spectrophotometer and can radiate individual narrow-band wavelength ranges. The multi-wavelength excimer radiation source (1), in series with a vessel or a cuvette (16; 16a, 16b), a vessel provided with a fluorescent material (17), and a light detector (18; D11 - Dnm), can form a compact spectrophotometer. <IMAGE>
