The invention relates to a new protein called EPIL/placentine, and analogs thereof having an EPIL/placentine like activity obtained by deletion and/or substitution. The invention also relates to a DNA molecule coding for a polypeptide of the EPIL/placentine type. Finally, the invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition containing said protein or an analog.
