Electro-membrane filter twin chamber modules equipped with electrodes

A process and electro-membrane assembly filters suspensions, dispersions and emulsions and incorporates two or more tubular membrane modules. The novelty is that the filtrate chambers within the tubular membrane modules are equipped with electrodes and that the tubular membranes serve as diaphragms between the electrodes. The modules are joined but not electrically linked. The retentate functions as a current bridge bearing alternating or direct current, or intermittent current in the range pref. 2-80 volts.
