The wheelchair has left and right rear rocker arm, with each arm having its end pointing forwards in the direction of travel (F). The arms are height-adjustably mounted in a horizontal axle (8) on the chassis' lengthwise strut (9). The back end is supported by the spring (6) linked to the rocker-arm and formed by a shock-absorber or pneumatic spring, with an affixed drive mechanism (3). A space (FR) between the two rocker-arms extends from the back of the wheel-chair to the rocker arms pivot axles (8). The rocker-arm is made of a single aluminium body reinforced by ridges, with container (12) for the drive mechanism. The rocker-arm spaced apart from the spring-bearing holders (13) has two superimposed bearing-holders (14) for an alternatively applied support-wheel (15).
