METHOD OF OBTAINING URANIUM TRIOXIDE BY DIRECTLY HEAT DENITRATING URANYL NITRATE

Method of obtaining uranium trioxide from a uranyl nitrate solution, in which the trioxide obtained should have a specific surface of approximately 12-15 m<2>/g. The method produces, within one area of the reaction chamber known as the contact area, a thermomechanical contact between the uranyl nitrate solution, reduced to fine droplets along a given axis in the contact area, and a gaseous fluid fed into the contact area, said gaseous fluid being at a sufficiently high temperature and having sufficiently high mechanical energy in the contact area to dehydrate and calcinate the uranyl nitrate.
