Railcar coupling block with bilateral anchor plates

The apron plates (12) are rotatably hinged to the car body and bear against the coupling block (15) and/or end-stops (22) off spring (16) directed towards the longitudinal centre line of the car. When the block (15) swivels, the two plates thus swing inwards round joint (19) into the car profile and the plates are continued each side of the car (11) by spring-loaded additional flaps (17) which move outwards round a vertical axis. The coupling block can move as such towards the coupling bar (18) so that when these are telescoped together, the horns (23) projecting off the block can be closed off by a pivotal protective plate (21) which with the plates (12) and flaps (17) completes a closed outer profile. The block (15) as closed off by the protective plate (21) projects beyond the spring plates (12) to form a buffer system.
