The apparatus and method is for tuning data finely under bad broadcasting signal condition so that fine frame is obtained. The apparatus includes a microcomputer(10) for controlling tuning operation and on screen display, a tuner(13) for tuning a broadcasting signal according to tuning data transmitted from the microcomputer(10), an IF signal processor(14) for detecting and transmitting AFT signal and synchronous signal contained in a tuned broadcasting signal to the microcomputer(10), an AFT memory(16) for storing AFT data, and a fine tuning key(17) for controlling tuning data generated by the microcomputer manually.
