Changeable liquid crystal display for watch faces or similar

The display includes an array of liquid crystal cells (6) stimulated by a drive switch (5) which can be used to display a logo (22), badge or slogan on a watch face or similar monitor. The driver is programmed to follow a predetermined sequence, whereby cells are individually switched to light transmission or light blocking modes. When transmitting they show the design on the display. All the cells are capable of light transmission or blocking and at any one time during operation some cells are in one mode, the rest in the other. The picture is determined by the order in which they are lit and their relationship to one another. A card (22) can be inserted in a slot (21) behind the face to select the picture.
