PURPOSE:To enhance image density and to lower fog by incorporating a magnetic powder having a BET specific surface area of 0.3-6m<2>/g measured by nitrogen adsorption, titanium white to which its surface is treated with SiO2, and a binder resin to prepare a magnetic toner. CONSTITUTION:The magnetic color toner is prepared by heat sintering 0.3-1.0mum sized Fe2O3 to 1,000-1,100 deg.C and mechanically pulverizing it to obtain a magnetic powder having a BET specific surface area of 0.3-6m<2>/g measured by nitrogen adsorption, on the other hand, adding the proper amt. of silica sand specified in particle size into the aq. dispersion of TiO2 to be used as the base, then, treating them hydrothermally in an autoclave at 150-200 deg.C, surface treating them with SiO2 to obtain the titanium white, well kneading these magnetic powder and the titanium white with the binder resin, and finally, mechanically pulverizing and classifying the mixture. |
