The device for recording and searching a recording date of a recording program comprises: a timer controller for storing information on time; a servo/syscon controller for perceiving the present time set on the timer controller as the data corresponding to a recording date and recording it on a control track of a tape as a BCD code at a recording operation, and detecting the BCD code corresponding to the date of the previously recorded program input as a key value by a user and searching the recorded program at a recorded program searching operation; and a deck unit for recording the BCD code by the control of the servo/syscon controller and detecting the recorded BCD code.
