The tool consists of a vertical shaft (1) with a cross-piece (2) at the top forming a handle, and a support (5) at its lower end, equipped with a series of downward-pointing spiral teeth (4) set at regular intervals round an imaginary cylinder. The assembly (6) formed from the teeth and their support is connected to the lower end of the shaft by a spiral coupling (11, 14) which converts a vertical movement of the shaft into a rotary movement of the teeth when the shaft is depressed, e.g. by pressure on a foot bar (3). The spiral coupling consists of a spiral groove (11) on the lower end (10) of the shaft and a ball (14) inside a bush (12) on the upper end of the tooth support which interacts with it.
