A beading machine is claimed for forming a beading along the length of the free edge of a metal sheet, of the type incorporating at the surface of a work block (11), at least one work groove (13) to rotate a drum (12) able to grip and entrain the sheet metal (72) to be beaded. This work groove (13) incorporates, internally on a part at least of its transverse section, at least one sliding lining (25A, 25B) of synthetic material, that, running longitudinal on at least a part of its length, participates in the formation of its internal surface.
