The long-nosed pliers have one jaw (18) straight and the other jaw (20) with its tip bent inward at right angles. The straight jaw has a flat inner face (22). The right-angled jaw is longer than the straight jaw, and its tip (26) extends over the end (24) of the flat jaw. The end of the right-angled jaw is flat (28). The end of the right-angled jaw presses the end of the cable tie inward, bending back the tongue (44) that locks into the ratchet formed on the end of the cable tie, releasing the tie.
