The invention relates to a fishing rod, advantageously a spinning rod or similar having guide rings (7, 10 14) for a line (15) and incorporating an indicator device (3) for detecting a strike of a fish, said indicator device comprising a trigger wire (4) reacting to the flexing of the fishing rod and a signalling means for issuing a signal at the flexing of the rod (1) by more than a preset amount, whereby the signalling means and an adjustment mechanism for presetting the indicator sensitivity are designed into an integrated entity suited for detachable mounting to the butt section of the rod (1). In order to make the fishing rod (1) and the signalling means (3) simple and reliable in use without a fouling risk of the line (15), the trigger wire (4) is adapted to pass via the line guide rings (7, 10 - 14) so that it passes through all or only some of the guide rings.
