The invention concerns a slice-cutting machine (1), in particular a machine for cutting food, with a housing (2) and, mounted in the housing, an electrically driven circular cutter blade (5). In order to improve the ease of servicing of the machine, the invention proposes that the cutter blade (5) is driven directly, i.e. with no reduction gearing, by a motor (11) mounted on the shaft (12) carrying said blade.
